⌈ Problem ⌋

Mr. Wang, a 19 year old student, had an ingrown toil nail (onychocryptosis).  His right big toe was swollen, with pus and mal-odour.  He has a history of recurrent infection.  He felt pain with walking and could not wear regular shoes.

⌈ Recovery procedure ⌋

Nail spikes were removed from both sides of the 1st toe nail by our Chiropodist and given antibiotics for 1 week.  Once the infection resolved, the patient received partial nail avulsion and advised to change the dressing for 2 weeks after the surgery.  The infection and surgical lesions were almost recovered after 2 weeks and was able to participate in  normal activist after 3 weeks.  Since the treatment, he hasn’t had an ingrown nail.
