⌈ Problem ⌋
Mr. Wang, a 19 year old student, had an ingrown toil nail (onychocryptosis). His right big toe was swollen, with pus and mal-odour. He has a history of recurrent infection. He felt pain with walking and could not wear regular shoes.
⌈ Recovery procedure ⌋
Nail spikes were removed from both sides of the 1st toe nail by our Chiropodist and given antibiotics for 1 week. Once the infection resolved, the patient received partial nail avulsion and advised to change the dressing for 2 weeks after the surgery. The infection and surgical lesions were almost recovered after 2 weeks and was able to participate in normal activist after 3 weeks. Since the treatment, he hasn’t had an ingrown nail.
